I bought my watch from another retailer, but I don’t know how much the subscription is?If you did not buy your watch direct from our website, the monthly subscription is £9 per month including VAT. There is a minimum of 12 months on the contract with a 30 day notice period from month 11 if you wish to cancel.
How do I change the time? The time is set automatically for you, however if the time is out by an hour please contact the office and we can get this set for you.
How do I assign guardians? On the mobile app click on the 3 white lines on the top left of the screen. A blue menu will open on your left and you will see manage guardians. Click on the link and it will open up a management page where you can add and delete guardians.
How do I call the watch?Once the watch is set up, you need to get the watch outside so it can get a satellite signal. Once it has its location, this will be sent back to your app. Once known a coloured pin will appear on your map. To call the watch, simply click on the coloured pin and a green menu will appear from the right. Scroll down and you will see the phone icon allowing you to call the watch.
What if my child removes the GPS watch?A light sensor underneath the watch’s casing will detect if a device has been taken off and send a direct alert immediately to the designated adult’s phone.
I have a shared parental responsibility; how will that work?As the lead parent you will have the ability to add into your account other responsible adults, such as Mum, Dad, Grandparents, or any other legal guardian. They will be invited to download the app and create a unique log in to add to your account. When they have guardianship of your child (for example the Grandparents might have him or her for the weekend) you assign them as the anchor point. This will make their phone the point of reference for all your agreed parameters, such as how far they are allowed to play from the Guardian and who the SOS alert should go to if the need arises.
Can my child call me for help?Yes There is an ‘SOS’ button which generates a call to the designated guardian’s phone. At this point, the parent will know the child needs them and the watch will pinpoint their exact location. They will be able to hold a two-way conversation with them using the built-in speakerphone.
What information do Pin iT Ltd keep?Pin iT keep details of all designated legal guardians such as name, address, mobile number and email address along with stored safe locations, device number and device SIM number. The GPS data is only retained for a maximum of 30 days.
Can we have multiple devices on a single account?Yes. You can add in as many devices as you require to your dashboard. From here, you may also set unique parameters for each device.
What if I no longer want my data stored? You are able withdraw consent to storage, processing and use of your data at any time via e-mail to support@pinit.ltd. Upon withdrawal of consent my data will be removed immediately.
Where in the EU can I use the watch? There are 32 countries across Europe where you will be able to use your watch. There's no emergency, can my child still contact me?Each GPS watch has two buttons that can be programmed by you to call two numbers of your choice – Dad and Mum, for example. When compared to the possible dangers posed by mobile phones, the major advantage to this design is that the wristwatch cannot be used to make or receive calls to any unauthorised numbers – incoming and outgoing calls are controlled and monitored by you.
Where is the watch ID number? The watch ID number can be found on the back of the watch. It is marked as ID and then followed by 10 digit number starting 6005.
Where is the SIM ID number? On the SIM card you received with your pack, there are 3 rows of numbers. The SIM ID is the middle number starting with 89 and is nineteen digits long.
Are Pin iT Ltd or any associated company tracking my child? No. We cannot track your child as we hold no identifiable details of your loved one in our system. You can, however, assign a nickname or colour code for each watch and we may collect GPS location data for the sole purpose of providing you with the information you need to ensure your child or children are safe and secure. All GPS data is deleted after a maximum 30 day period.
What if the system is hacked?
Only systems that are not connected to the internet in any form at all can remain completely impossible to hack. Pin iT wristwatches have no public internet connection, and the GPS data is kept on a separate server with no public web-facing applications or access.
Although our software applications, by necessity, are connected to the internet, we deploy the highest possible levels of IT security standards, including HTTPS protocol using SSL encryption and additional features such as:
How long does the battery last?- Storing all passwords in an encrypted format and not in standard plain text. This ensures that your password cannot be stolen in the unlikely event of a database breach.
- All passwords are transmitted over an encrypted channel.
- Strong passwords, using letters, numbers and special characters, will be mandatory.
- Additionally, we will lock your account in the event of a succession of unsuccessful login attempts.
The battery should last about 8 hours from a full charge. The charge is affected by how often the data is uploaded via gsm and how often the watch is called. If you selected a longer upload period the battery will last longer.
Why am I seeing API request unsuccessful?Answer – If you see this message simply log out of the app and then log back in again. This is a security feature that has been designed to ensure you log back in on a regular basis. This ensures the safety of your child if your phone is stolen.
